Students often lack access to people who have recently navigated the paths they are considering. By sharing your experience on Velynk, you help others:

Ways to contribute
You do not need to do everything at once. Pick what fits your schedule and strengths:
Host sessions
- Group sessions — Share a topic with multiple students (career paths, interview prep, industry overview)
- One-on-one offerings — Offer focused mentorship slots for individualized guidance
Start from your profile or session creation flow after your account is set up.
Answer community questions
Visit the feed or Ask a question to reply to threads. Strong answers are specific, actionable, and grounded in what you personally experienced.
Join or host live rooms
Live rooms support real-time audio and text conversation. Alumni can host office hours for quick questions and informal guidance.

Getting started
- Complete your profile — Add education, experience, skills, and a clear bio so students know how you can help
- Verify your account — Complete email and phone verification; alumni should complete LinkedIn verification where available
- Set expectations — Use your bio and session descriptions to clarify topics you can (and cannot) advise on
- Follow the guidelines — Read our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service
- Start small — A single thoughtful reply or a short live room is a meaningful first contribution
What great contributions look like
- Original — Share your own experience; do not copy generic advice from elsewhere
- Actionable — Suggest concrete next steps where possible
- Honest — Acknowledge limits of your knowledge and when professional licensed advice is needed
- Respectful — Treat students as capable adults learning to make their own decisions
- Safe — Do not share private employer data, confidential interview content, or another person's personal information
What we may remove or restrict
We may limit contributions that include spam, harassment, misinformation, impersonation, discriminatory guidance, or attempts to move paid mentorship off-platform to evade policies. See Community Guidelines for details.
Time commitment
There is no minimum requirement. Some contributors host monthly group sessions; others answer one question per week. Consistency matters more than volume — students benefit when they know you are genuinely engaged.
